Wine has a long established history of being our drink of choice for celebrating, entertaining, and savoring life; but it didn't start out that way.   • In 397 St. Martin of Tours died in Candes-Saint-Martin.  St. Martin is the patrol saint of vintners, wine growers and winemakers.
  • California's Tracy Hills AVA was designated in 2006.
