  • The Wine License Office, of Lincoln’s Inn in 1761 issued multiple notices requesting that people who had retail wine licenses that expired midsummer to renew those licenses.
  • The AOC Côtes du Rhone Villages was named in 1951
  • Bulgaria was divided into five wine producing regions in 1960 (Danube River Plains, Black Sea Coastal, Valley of the Roses, Thracian Valley, Struma River Valley)

  • The JuliénasAOC was named in 1938. 
  • The Texas Davis Mountains AVA was designated in 1998. The primary grapes grown here are Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Spain's Mondéjar DO was created in 2007. The primary grapes grown here are Tempranillo and Macebo.
  • Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley AVA was designated in 2008.  The most common grapes produced here are Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Vidal Blanc.

  • Jess Jackson, of Kendall-Jackson was born in 1930 .
  • AOC blanquette de Limoux was designated in 1938.
  • The Coteaux du Layon-Chaume AOC was created in 1950.
  • The Coteaux-du-Layon was designated AOC in 1950.
  • The Teroldego Rotaliano DOC was established in 1971.
