  • Wine Road of the Samurai is a documentary about 34 Samurai (who were also known as The Last Samurais) delegation sent by the Japanese government to France at the end of Edo era. They were sent to help solve diplomatic problems between Japan and Europe in 1863.
  • Muscadet-Côtes de Grandlieu was created in 1994.

  • Italy’s Brindisi Rosso DOC was created in 1979. 
  • France’s Anjou AOC was revised in 1991. 
  • Italy's Piedmont Chardonnay Pinot Spumante DOC was created in 1994. 
  • Spain's La Mancha DO was established in 1996.
  • Spain's Málaga DO was established in 2001.  These wines are made of Pedro Ximinez and Moscatel grapes.

Hames Valley - Wine Region of the Day

HAMES VALLEY

The Hames Valley received its designation as an AVA in 1994 and is situated on 10,240 acres in Monterey County in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. The Hames Valley soil is shale and loam. The regions has the largest diurnal temperature swing of any AVA in Monterey County. The grapes are exposed to a great deal of sunlight during the day, and receive some of the cooling effects of the Pacific Ocean breezes in the evenings. The region is best known for producing Cabernet Franc, Cabernet SauvignonMerlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
